Fragaria x ananassa ‘Lipstick’ – Strawberry – Rosaceae (The Rose Family)

Description Fragaria ‘Lipstick’ is a strawberry mostly grown as a ground cover or front-of-border edger thanks to its near constant production of bright reddish pink flowers from spring until fall. Also perfect in a container and tolerates more shade than your average strawberry! Plants seem to be self infertile but will produce small, very sweet fruit like a wild strawberry in the presence of a different strawberry to pollinate it. For instance, I have harvested copious fruit from a patch that was growing adjacent to ‘Pink Panda’.
