$ 32.93
Description Musa ‘Helen’s Hybrid’ is a recently-discovered banana thought to be a hybrid of Musa sikkimensis and ‘Chini-Champa’. The mature foliage is green with an upper red midrid with new foliage emerging with bright red leaf reverses. The fruit is described as sweet but seedy. It derives its cold tolerance from its Musa sikkimensis parentage. This is an extremely rare variety, perfect for a banana lover looking to add to their collection. Requires proper winter protection, heavy mulching and/or wrapping. If grown in a container, move it to a protected indoor location for winter. Hardy to zone 7b.
